Lighted Skate Parks in California: 51 Spots for Night Skating
California has more skate parks tagged lit=yes in OpenStreetMap than any other state (51 of 460 listed California parks; next is Texas with 27). Lighting data is incomplete, so a park missing here may still have lights. Browse the California hub or the national lit list.
Lights do not mean open late. Many parks turn lights off at a set time or close at dusk. For example, Los Angeles city skate parks are set by ordinance to close at sunset (noon to sunset weekdays, 9 a.m. to sunset weekends and holidays) per Los Angeles Recreation and Parks report on LAMC 63.44.N (Nov 4, 2021), even where lights exist. Check posted hours before a night session.
California law requires operators to have riders wear a helmet, elbow pads and knee pads; unsupervised public parks can meet this with a local ordinance and posted signs (California Health and Safety Code §115800).
